Dentist Can Sağlat · Bitez, Bodrum
Our Practice
Our practice is on the main square in the centre of Bitez, Bodrum. We have worked here since March 2022. We see seven patients a day and set aside one hour for each appointment, so the waiting area is usually quiet and you meet the same small team at every visit. On this page we describe the practice, the equipment we use, our sterilisation routine and how to find us.
Waiting area

As you come in, you are welcomed by the reception desk and a waiting area with plenty of daylight. Because appointments are planned at one-hour intervals, you usually do not wait long. There is Wi-Fi in the waiting area and we offer drinks. If you come with your child or a relative, they can sit comfortably here too.

The practice is on the upper floor of the building and is reached by stairs. It is not suitable for wheelchair access. If you find stairs difficult, please write to us before you come so that we can talk about your situation.
Treatment rooms

The practice has two treatment rooms, each with its own dental unit.
On the screen opposite the dental unit we look at your X-ray and scan images together with you, and talk through the findings and treatment options on these images. During treatment, if you wish, you can watch nature footage, a film or a video on the same screen.
Imaging
Panoramic and periapical X-rays can be taken at the practice. A panoramic X-ray shows all the teeth and jaws in a single image; a periapical X-ray shows a single tooth and its root in detail.

Panoramic X-rays are taken in a separate room with lead-shielded walls. When needed, we use a lead apron and a lead collar (thyroid shield) during imaging.
Digital impressions and 3D printer

For crowns, bridges, night guards and similar work, we usually take impressions with an intraoral scanner. The scanner works with visible light; no tray filled with impression material is placed in the mouth. For removable dentures, we use the conventional impression method.
Using the data from a digital impression, the 3D resin printer at the practice can produce models, temporary crowns, in some cases permanent crowns in ceramic-reinforced resin, and surgical guides for implants. Some work, such as night guards, is made in a dental laboratory.

Hygiene and sterilisation
The practice has a separate sterilisation room where instruments are prepared. Instruments are cleaned, packed and sterilised there in two steam sterilisers (autoclaves). Sterile packs keep instruments sterile for up to six months. We open the packs in front of you.
Cups, patient bibs, saliva ejectors and napkins are single-use.
Between patients, the treatment room and dental unit are disinfected in line with cross-infection control protocols. We plan our appointments so that there is time for this preparation. During fillings and root canal treatment, whenever possible, we isolate the tooth with a rubber sheet (rubber dam).
The team who welcome you
At the practice, Dentist Can Sağlat works with our assistant Fatma Danaş and our Health Tourism Officer Gül Göktepe. Visits by our international patients are planned by our Health Tourism Officer. We speak Turkish and English during consultations.
