Can I reach you outside opening hours?
You can also write to us on WhatsApp outside opening hours. No patients are seen at these times, but we will get back to you if it is something we can help with via WhatsApp.
Where is the practice?
Our practice is on the main square in the centre of Bitez, Bodrum (Bitez Mah. Cumhuriyet Cd. No:72/1, Bodrum). The minibus (dolmuş) stop in Bitez, Bodrum is about 50 metres away, and there is parking on the street and nearby.
Is the practice accessible by wheelchair?
No. The practice is on the upper floor of the building and can only be reached by stairs. If you find stairs difficult, please write to us before you come so that we can talk about your situation.
The first examination
How long does an appointment take?
We see seven patients a day and set aside one hour for each appointment. This time is for listening, examining, explaining and carrying out treatment with the care it needs.
Will I have to wait at my appointment time?
As we set aside one hour for each appointment and see seven patients a day, you usually do not have to wait. If there is a delay because of an emergency, we let you know in advance.
Is treatment carried out at the first appointment?
That depends on your complaint and the findings of the examination. The first appointment is usually for examination, imaging and planning; in an urgent situation such as pain, treatment can be given on the same day.
Can X-rays be taken at the practice?
Yes. Panoramic and periapical X-rays can be taken at the practice. When needed, we use a lead apron and a thyroid shield.
How is the decision about treatment made?
Before treatment begins, we explain all the stages, any alternatives and the possible risks. The decision is made together, once your questions have been answered.
Hygiene and sterilisation
How are instruments sterilised?
The practice has a separate sterilisation room where instruments are prepared. Instruments are cleaned, packed and sterilised there in two steam sterilisers (autoclaves). We open the sterile packs in front of you.
Which materials are single-use?
Cups, patient bibs, saliva ejectors and napkins are single-use. Between patients, the treatment room and dental unit are disinfected.
Children
When should I first take my child to the dentist?
When the first baby tooth comes through, and at the latest around the age of one. This visit is mainly for getting to know each other, a check-up and giving information to the parents.
Can I stay with my child during the examination?
Yes. With children, we work together with the parents. We usually examine young children on a parent’s lap.
International patients
Which languages do you speak?
We speak Turkish and English during consultations. Our Health Tourism Officer also communicates with patients from abroad in English.
I am coming from abroad; how do I plan my visit?
If possible, write to us by WhatsApp or email at least 15 days before you arrive. Our Health Tourism Officer arranges your treatment schedule around the length of your stay in Bodrum. At the end of your treatment we give you a treatment report in English.
Payment and insurance
Which payment methods do you accept?
You can pay in cash, by credit or debit card, or by bank transfer. Cards issued abroad are also accepted.
Do you have an agreement with the Turkish social security system (SGK) or private health insurers?
No. We have no agreement with SGK. We also have no direct agreements with private health insurers; you can submit the invoice we give you to your insurance company yourself.
